AMV Contest Rules
Spent hours tweaking a sequence of videos set to your favorite music? Want to showcase your talent to a large audience? Want to also have a chance at winning some great prizes? Enter the casual showing or AMV competition for Kita-Kon 2009. Turnout was so good we have to move this event to a larger room!!!
Prizes to be announced closer to the convention date.
General Rules
- There is a maximum of 3 entries per person.
- Entries must be submitted in AVI, MP4 or MKV with any encoding at a large resolution (640x480 / 700x400 or greater) Youtube and other live streams are NOT acceptable.
- Audio quality must be at a bitrate 128kbps or greater and a Sampling Rate of 44.1k or greater. MP3, AAC, and other compressed audio formats are allowed.
- Time limit of 8 minutes per entry.
- Video must not contain subtitles.
- MEPs, Multi-Editor Projects are eligible for entry, just include all of the Editors information when submitting.
- Winners do not need to be in Attendance to win. Winners will be contacted as soon as the results are announced.
- Entries that have premiered in public at other conventions or online are acceptable as long as the date of the premier is Sept. 1st 2008 or later.
- All entries should be submitted before August 1st 2009.
- No full nudity or other explicit content is allowed. Swears Allowed to an extent.
- Video must contain at least 50% Anime or Japanese game material to qualify.
How to send us your AMV
FTP Access will be granted on Request. Upload Websites such as Megaupload, RapidShare, or Mediafire are acceptable. Direct Download Sites such as AnimeMusicVideos or a personal website are also acceptable.
AMV Submission Forms Will be added shortly, so get crackin' on those videos!

- Technical Award - Technical use of Syncing & Timing, Special Effects, and Appropriateness. Chosen from all categories.
- Action / Adventure - Best of the Best out of the Action/Adventure Category.
- Comedy / Parody - Best of the Best out of the Comedy/Parody Category.
- Dance / Fun - Best of the Best out of the Dance/Fun Category.
- Romance / Drama - Best of the Best out of the Romance/Drama Category.
Fan Chosen Categories
- Chairman's Favorite - Chairman's Favorite Video, Enough said...
- Fan's Favorite - Fan's Impression, Each Fan has a single vote, who will win?
